Among several environmental and energy problems that Europe is facing, water shortness is one of the most serious, reaching 11% of European population and 17% of European territory. In addition to the ministers of the twenty seven, ministers from other candidate countries to the EU will also be present - Macedonia, Croatia and Turkey - as well as ministers from Switzerland and Norway. The aim of this informal conference is to try to promote an agreement on these issues until the end of October, time when the Environment Council takes place.
